The big Marvel superhero movie Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is opening Friday and dominating screens at local theaters. If you’re looking for something different, or looking to avoid the crowds, there’s more opening this weekend.
Set during World War II, Their Finest is a wartime drama and romance that centers on a British Ministry of Information film production. It concerns a morale boosting film about the evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk, France during the Battle of Britain and the London Blitz.

Richard Gere and Laura Linney star again (they were both in 1996’s Primal Fear) in this taut family drama based on the book by author Herman Koch and written and directed by Oren Moverman (“The Messenger”).
