‘I Am Heath Ledger’ documentary to screen Wednesday at Mayfaire 16

Fathom Events and Network Entertainment present the documentary on actor Heath Ledger “I Am Heath Ledger” this Wednesday evening at Regal Cinemas Mayfaire 16.

It shows at 7:30 p.m. and runs nearly two hours.

The one-night only screening takes an intimate and behind the scenes look at the actor who passed away in 2008 months before his Oscar winning performance in “The Dark Knight” was released. Understandably so, when that film was released director Christopher Nolan declined to add any behind the scenes, deleted scenes, or interview footage of Ledger.

The documentary features interviews with friends and colleagues as well as footage of Ledger from his own home videos.

Directed by Adrian Buitenhuis and Derik Murray, “I Am Heath Ledger” has been described as haunted and pulling the veil back on the young actor. Ledger turned heads after debuting in 1999’s teen comedy “10 Things I Hate About You.” He turned films seeking more teen comedy roles and instead starred in “The Patriot” and “A Knight’s Tale.” He was praised for a smaller role in “Lords of Dogtown” and wowed audiences and critics alike in “Brokeback Mountain.”
